How can heat be converted into electricity? – Our newest project “STEAM”
In May 2021 we had been able to successfully complete the STEAM development project after a 3-year run. The goal of the project was to develop a prototype expander (KÖNIG steam expander) converting heat into electricity. Technically spoken, a classic, thermal cycle process is used, were a KÖNIG steam expanders convert the offered heat potential from a steam flow into physical work.
The experimental investigations on the test bench of the Technical University of Graz, Styria show a perfect thermodynamic and mechanical functionality, which clearly demonstrates the great potential of our steam expander. With this development project, we were once again able to impressively demonstrate our ability to innovate and have received numerous positive reactions from the market.
